Grand Final - Madison Browne

Its taken me 5 seasons, 2 clubs, over 100,000 frequent flyer points, loses, draws and wins to get me to this point. My first ANZ Champs finals series.

I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't nervous stepping out onto Rod Laver Arena a few weeks ago. For one, being a Victorian, Rod Laver is the pinnacle sporting and entertainment arena for sports heroes and rock stars around the world, so to have the opportunity to play on court at such a place makes my heart flutter even thinking about it.

Once my nerves settled in the opening minutes, the game flew by and what seems to be a Vixens trademark of this year, a comeback from behind victory sealed us the home Grand Final. Excited and pumped for what the next few weeks would hold, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

The week off, brought no real changes. Training as per usual and a practice match to keep us in game mode. No holding back against your teammates, we were there to push and challenge one another on all accounts.

This session was open to the public, and what amazing supporters we have. Biscuits, cupcakes and posters were all brought to wish us well for the following week. We have been blessed this season by record breaking crowds, members and fanatic fans screaming and cheering us on and once again they were out to show us how much they care.

So here I am, 1 gym and 1 courtwork training to go in preparation for what will be the biggest game of my Netball journey to date. It's been a dream I've wanted for so long, it's hard to believe its finally here.
I think back to all the hard preseason runs, hill climbs, beach sprints, swims, rides and extra sessions I've pushed myself through to make sure I've given it my all for my team and they know I'll be there for them when it counts.

I'm anxious with excitement knowing that I have this wonderful opportunity on Sunday and can't wait to put everything I've worked so hard for on the line for the team Im so proud to be part of.
It's going to be a tough, intense and brutal 60 minutes, but this is why we play the game, for a moment like this to represent your state and country on the big stage.

Bring on the kiwis and GO VIXENS!
