Olympic 800m champion Pamela Jelimo has been named in a nine-member team for next month's World Indoor championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
The March 9-12 event marks the first major international competition in nearly four years for the 22-year-old Kenyan who has battled injury and poor form since her triumph in Beijing in 2008.
Jelimo recently made an impressive return to the track when she finished second in a 800m at the Pas de Calais meeting in Lievin, France a week ago.
The team also includes the men's 800m silver medallist Boaz Lalang and Slyvia Kibet, the two-time women's 5,000m world outdoor silver medallist.
"This is the strongest team we have selected since the inception of the world indoor championships. It is also the biggest team and we expect to win many medals," Athletics Kenya spokesman Peter Angwenyi said.
Kenya finished 16th with two silver and two bronze medals at the last championships in Doha in 2010.
