Northern Irish goalkeeper Roy Carroll has signed to play with Olympiakos until the end of next season, the Greek Super League champions announced Thursday.
"It is an honour for me to play for the best team in Greece," said the 34-year-old former Manchester United player who joined from OFI Crete.
"I am waiting anxiously to play in the Europa League and return to European action. I hope next season we play in the Champions League but first we must win the domestic title."
OFI had said that it decided to transfer Carroll at his request and at a cost of 330,000 euros which had been owed by the Cretan team to Olympiakos from previous deals.
Carroll has played for the Northern Ireland national team 19 times and has played on a club level for Hull City (1995-1997), Wigan Athletic (1997-2001), Manchester United (2001-2005), West Ham United (2005-2007), Rangers (2007-2008), Derby County (2008-2009) and Odense BK (2009-2011).
Meanwhile, Olympiakos also announced the termination of its contract with Argentine goalie Franco Costanzo, by mutual consent.
