Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has told his star-studded squad to set aside any dreams they have of playing in the Champions League final on May 19 and concentrate on their current plight.
Munich's Allianz Arena hosts the Champions League final on May 19, but first Bayern have to win their Round of 16 first-leg clash at FC Basel on Wednesday.
Much has been made in the German media of Bayern's date with destiny to play in the final at their own stadium, but with the team third in the German league and struggling for confidence, Hoeness says they have other priorities.
"We must now may not make the mistake to focus only on that day," he said.
"The pressure on the team is big enough as it is.
"That's for the fans to worry about, we can't afford to over-inflate the importance of the final. We have to stay calm and relaxed."
Bayern were held to a goalless draw at bottom side Freiburg last Saturday, which saw them slip to third in the league and are four points behind leaders aqnd defending champions Borussia Dortmund.
"We have to worry about beating Basel, then winning the Bundesliga, then the German Cup final in Berlin," said Hoeness with Munich through to the domestic cup's semi-finals.
"It's going to be one hell of a finish to the season."
But Hoeness said cup fever is growing amongst Bayern's army of fans with May 19 already the hot talking point in Bavaria.
"I've looked through just 50 letters and in 25 of them, people write: "Oh, May 19th! My son is 13 on May 19th and I really want to invite him and his friend to see the game. I need tickets!," he said.
