Real Madrid's La Liga match at Rayo Vallecano was delayed on Sunday after the floodlights failed amid reports from Spain the match could be postponed to another day.
The match had been due to start at 2130 local time (1930 GMT) but after 25 minutes delay there was no sign of the encounter starting as fans milled around outside the ground awaiting developments.
The stadium speaker spoke merely of a delay without specifying if the match might have to be called off altogether.
