Oleg Blokhin will remain as Ukraine's coach after the Euro 2012 competition and be in charge for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, the Ukraiane Football Federation announced on Wednesday.
The 59-year-old, who was a star striker with the former Soviet Union, was in charge of Ukraine in the 2006 World Cup finals when they reached the quarter-finals.
His current contract was due to run out after the Euro 2012 which Ukraine jointly hosts with Poland.
But the new deal means he will have another three years at the helm going on to Brazil in the summer of 2014 if Ukraine make it through the qualifiers.
