Greg Norman, Jason Day and American star Bubba Watson will be major drawcards at the Australian PGA Championship, capping a golden three weeks for Australian golf.

The trio have agreed to play the PGA at Hyatt Coolum on Queensland's Sunshine Coast from November 24-27, the week after the Presidents Cup contest between captain Norman's International team and Fred Couples' US team at Royal Melbourne, where both Day and Watson will feature.

Keen to play the big Australian tournaments for the first time, world No.9 Day has also indicated he's keen to join the likes of Norman, Couples, Dustin Johnson, Watson and defending champion Geoff Ogilvy in the field for the Australian Open at The Lakes in Sydney from November 10-13.

The return of two-time major winner Norman and debut of Day, runner-up in the last two major championships, are sure to prove major attractions at the PGA in their home state.

Norman has won the PGA title twice, in 1984 and 1985, but has not played the tournament since 2004.

The appearances are believed to have been secured with help from state government funding through Events Queensland.

"It's been several years since I've been able to play up at Coolum, and this particular year, coincides with a very important milestone for the PGA in its centenary," Norman said in a statement.

"It's going to be a huge summer for Australian golf, including the PGA at Coolum.

"It will be great to get back up there and see how the course has changed since I last played."

Day was keen to show his exciting game to home fans.

"I'm really excited about coming back to Queensland and playing the PGA Championship at Coolum," said Day.

"This year will be big. It's going to be a great field and I'm looking forward to playing well in front of my friends and family and all the young golf fans."
