The Canberra Capitals kept their WNBL finals hopes alive, recording their seventh win of the season with a 72-66 victory on Friday night against the Sydney Uni Flames at the AIS Arena.

The home side came from ten points down at three-quarter time to snatch a dramatic victory, outscoring their opponents 20-4 in the final term.

Carly Wilson led the way for the victors with 17 points, Marianna Tolo added 15 and Nicole Hunt 13.

Alicia Poto top-scored for the Flames with 16 points, while Amy Denson added 11 points and Lauren King had ten rebounds.

Scores were tight for the entire first half, before the visiting Flames took over in the third quarter.

Down by as many as 16 points in the third term, Canberra hit back and finally took the lead on a Marianna Tolo field goal with two minutes remaining in the game.

In their first meeting of the season, the Bulleen Boomers defeated the Townsville Fire 92-75 in Bulleen, collecting their tenth win.

The home side never trailed after quarter-time and maintained a double figure lead from midway through the second term until the final buzzer.

Despite playing in less than 20 minutes of action, Bulleen's WNBA and Opals star Liz Cambage led all scorers with 22 points, connecting on eight of her 11 field goal attempts.

Rachel Jarry scored 14 points, while Tayla Roberts and Alice Kunek added 12 apiece.

Townsville import Shanavia Dowdell led the way for the visiting Fire with 17 points, to go along with eight rebounds.

On Saturday night, Townsville suffered another loss, going down 80-67 in Adelaide who consolidated first place on the WNBL ladder with 12 wins.

In other weekend results, Sydney backed up from their Canberra loss to defeat AIS 62-53, Logan Thunder kept their finals hopes alive downing Dandenong 76-71 and Bendigo thrashed West Coast Waves 82-48.
