Argentina took a 4-0 lead over Germany on Sunday as Juan Ignacio Chela enjoyed a straight-sets win over Florian Mayer with the south Americans already into the Davis Cup quarter-finals.

Chela needed just 91 minutes to enjoy a 7-5, 7-5 win over the Germans to maintain his side's domination in the tie.

Argentina had already booked their passage through to the quarter-finals, where they face either Japan or Croatia, on Saturday with victory in the doubles to give them an unassailable lead after winning both singles rubbers on Friday.

Hosts Germany are playing to avoid a 5-0 whitewash in the final rubber of the tie with 21-year-old Cedrik-Marcel Stebe taking on Argentina's Eduardo Schwank.
