Canadians collected their fifth and sixth podium sweeps of the Missouri Grand Prix swim meet on Sunday while Brazil stars Cesar Cielo and Thiago Pereira won titles.
Canadians performed well in the three-day meet ahead of their nation's Olympic trials next month at Montreal, including Julia Wilkinson winning the 200 individual medley in 2:13.10, .46 ahead of compatriot Erica Morningstar.
Canada's Sinead Russell won the 200 backstroke in 2:09.47 with compatriot Hilary Caldwell .37 back in second and Barbara Jardin third in 2:11.33 for the fifth Canadian podium sweep of the US Swimming event.
The last Canadian triple came in the final individual event when Kier Maitland won the 1,500 freestyle in 15:27.01 with Keegan Zanatta second in 15:30.29 and Will Brothers third in 15:32.07.
Cielo, the 2008 Beijing Olympic 50-meter freestyle champion, won the 100 free in 49.51 seconds with Canada's Richard Hortness next, .46 of second back.
Pereira captured the 200 individual medley in 1:59.91 with Canada's Andrew Ford second, exactly three seconds off the pace.
American winners included Amanda Weir in the 100 freestyle in 54.41, edging Hong Kong's Hannah Wilson by .86; Kathleen Ledecky in the 800 freestyle and Ryan Murphy in the 200 backstroke.
